Do you feel bored with your outfits? Do you pair the same things together all the time and want to change it up? I’m going to show easy ways to create new outfits with your existing clothes by using Pinterest as inspiration. No need to purchase new clothes when you can get creative with the items you own. I recently wrote about ways to Stop Wasting Money On Clothes and How To Shop Your Closet and this post is an extension of both of those. I will show you 3 examples of how I used images from Pinterest to create outfits with clothes from my own closet.
The bloggers mentioned in this post were kind enough to grant me permission to use their photos.

Create New Outfits By Adding Prints

This first look is from Audrey at Putting Me Together. I’ve followed Audrey’s blog for YEARS and I get outfit inspiration from her all the time. I’ve worn this sweater with jeans before but I never thought to pair it with leopard print! Notice the small differences in our outfits. I prefer silver jewelry so I’m wearing my favorite necklace that my husband gave me. Audrey is wearing mules but I’m wearing flats because that’s what works for my lifestyle. You don’t need the exact items from a photo, use them as inspiration to get creative with your outfits.
- Sweater: Nordstrom, the exact one I’m wearing is sold out but I linked a similar one
- Jeans: Old Navy
- Shoes: Amazon
- Necklace: Gift from my husband, but this one is similar
Create New Outfits By Layering

Pumps and Pushups is a fashion blog catering mostly to petite women. Brooke states on her blog that she is 4’10”. At 5’6″ I’m far from considering myself petite, but Brooke’s outfits are always on point. And her hair is always that shiny! This is such a super easy, comfy outfit that I just had to copy it. I’ve been loving my flannel shirt for layering this fall and winter. I tried the outfit with 2 different shoes but I think I prefer the slip-on black ones. You could also substitute black jeans for the leggings.
- T-shirt: Old Navy
- Flannel shirt: Secondhand from ThredUp, similar from Old Navy
- Jacket: Nordstrom
- Leggings: Nordstrom
- Black slip-on shoes: Amazon
- Sneakers: Amazon, they are often sold out so these are similar
Create New Outfits With Closet Basics

I found this outfit from The Pleated Poppy when I was searching for ‘outfits with burgundy cardigan’. Although the blog post is a few years old, the style is still relevant. That’s the great thing about basics, they rarely, if ever, go out of style! You can check my post on the importance of Closet Basics. I decided to pair this outfit with boots instead of sneakers since I wore my slip-on shoes with the previous outfit. I also took the opportunity to change up how I normally wear my hair. It was so easy, I just used my Pony-O to gather the hair loosely at my neck and let the shorter pieces at the front hang loose. Pinterest can be a great inspiration for changing up your hair and makeup, too.
- Top: Amazon
- Cardigan: Amazon
- Jeans: Nordstrom
- Shoes: Nordstrom
- Necklace: Gift from my husband, but this one is similar
